Hearing aids (sometimes known as hearing instruments) are sound-amplifying devices intended to help people with hearing impairments.
Most hearing aids have a microphone that picks up sound, amplifier circuitry that makes the sound louder, a small loudspeaker (receiver) that transmits the amplified sound into the ear canal, and batteries to power the electronic components.
Many contemporary hearing aids may connect wirelessly to landline phones, cell phones, MP3 players, and televisions. Each firm has its own line to complement its specific hearing instrument. The technology is available at most pricing points for hearing aids.
Available from all hearing aid manufacturers.
